Adell Harris is an INSPIRATION, a powerful communicator of the pure greatness that exists within the human experience and the human spirit. 

Adell is a world-renowned professional speaker, author and former college basketball player and coach, celebrated for her dynamic approach to leadership and her unwavering commitment to personal and professional excellence. She has dedicated her life to inspiring and empowering others, drawing from a wealth of experience and a deep-seated passion for helping individuals realize their full potential.

A native of High Point, N.C., where she is known for her basketball talent and her ability to inspire all those around her. Adell is a 1998 graduate of T.W. Andrews High School, where she is a member of the athletics hall of fame and where she earned a full athletic scholarship to Wake Forest University. During her career as a Demon Deacon, she captured the Joel Coliseum single-game assist record for Women’s Basketball, when she dropped 10 dimes versus Georgia Tech in her freshman season. She finished her career 10th all-time in career assist with 241. 

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Wake Forest in 2002, she went on to pursue a career in collegiate coaching.  In her 19-year college basketball career, Adell’s teams won 5 championships and earned 6 post-season tournament bids. As a Head Coach, she’s won 4 championships, amassed over 100 career wins and graduated every senior she coached.

In the Spring of 2019, Adell was named Chief of Staff for the Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball program. This would make her the first female Chief of Staff in the country. Pioneering a movement of women in men’s collegiate sports.  

Adell’s mission is to inspire the world to make adversity their advantage, and challenge people to enlarge their vision of what’s possible in their lives.

Adell has spoken at over 100 Conferences, High Schools and Universities around the country.

She is also a bestselling author of, Refuse to Lose – 7 Steps to Make Adversity Your Advantage.
