Dear Adell,
I was wondering what your thoughts are regarding goal setting for a new year. In previous years I would just think of some basic cliche goals that I would try to accomplish in the new year, but I’ve never been able to follow through with the goals or take them seriously. Getting in better shape led to gym memberships that went dormant, just like the diets and extra saving money goals I’ve tried before. By the end of January or mid-February, I would brush them off to the side and forget about them and get right back to my same old habits. I really can’t seem to get over that hump of making the decision to truly honor a goal I set, so it makes me wonder if I am doing it wrong. I really want this year to be different. How specific should I be when setting a list of goals that I want to attain? Is it better to create lots and lots of goals that are short and simple or should I just focus on a couple that I am super specific about? It’s already February but there is so much that I would really like to accomplish in 2018, and I just want to make sure that my plan of action makes sense. Appreciate the help Adell.
